Andy Irons Forever. November 14, 2010 Kauai

Philip Andrew Irons "Andy Irons" was Hawaii's #1. From early days surfing HASA, Hawaii Amateur Surfing Association, the WQS, Would Qualifying Series to the Dream Tour A.I. was unstoppable. From a friend to a idle Andy was just about the most outgoing friendly person ever. His love for the ocean and his ability to surf in every type of condition made him one of the most talented surfers. Here are some photos from Kauai.

As we drove into Hanalei there was a feeling of Love and Aloha

The Boys built this, as you can see it is standing over 30 feet.

Opening Day @ Peahi "Jaws" November, 2 2010

Last year a dream of mine came true when a friend called me up and said I have a someone that needs a Tow Surfing partner on Maui. My life changed forever...

Surfline: LOLA is a global swell model that is continuously updated and corrected with real-time information from orbiting satellites, buoys, and other sources. As a result, LOLA forecasts can change daily. The most accurate information for upcoming swell events will always be found on the Surfline Forecasts, produced by our team of surf forecasters with all of the latest updates.

New Board meant New equipment. Had to ease my way into it at first, Last thing you want to do is rush into giant waves when your unfamiliar with your board.

Unridden Beauty. Some clean perfect waves!

Good from far....

This was one of my first waves on my new board.

Still waiting on the better shots.....

Just sneaked out from under this mountain of white water!

Andy Irons for you Cuz! RIP <Mahalo Peahi>

Hydrometeorology Observations "Swell Forecasting"

Winter in Hawaii is officially here and I've been researching Hydrometeorology. Hydrometeorology is a branch of meteorology and hydrology that studies the transfer of water and energy between the land surface and the lower atmosphere. In other words "Swell Forecasting."

Looks like the National Data Buoy Center  51101 Buoy is rapidly on the rise!
