Andy Irons Day February 13th Is Forever "Andy Irons Day"

On November 20th, Our Governor of Hawaii declared February 13 Forever "Andy Irons Day"
Lets all Celebrate his Life!
Andy was born and raised on Kauaiʻs beautiful Hanalei Bay. Over the career of his professional surfing, Andy won three world titles (2002, 2003, 2004), three Quiksilver Pro France titles (2003, 2004, 2005), two Rip Curl Pro Search titles (2006 and 2007) and 20 elite tour victories including the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing four times from 2002-2006, the US Open in 2005, the Ripcurl Pipline Masters in 2005 etc. His most recent win was the Billabong Pro in Tahiti on September 3, 2010. I was watching it live over the webcast. Remember Andy is the only surfer to have won a title at every venue on the ASP calendar. Andy, to no surprise, was inducted into the Surfing Walk of Fame in Huntington Beach July 2, 2008.
Andy Irons will forever be one of Hawaii's Favorite Surfers. His ability was far beyond any other surfers in my generation. He will be Forever missed & Loved.
Andy sure made a huge impact wile he was here. A.I. will continue forever and ever & he will never be forgotten.
He will always be a friend a brother, son, cousin, nephew, uncle, husband and loving father. A.I. was one of the nicest  persons that I have ever had a chance to know, also one of the most influential surfers that I looked up to.
A Big shout out to the Friends & Ohana, especially Lyndie and little Andrew Axle, Bruce, Kala and the rest of the Hawaii Boyz.
PS Lets Celebrate his Life everone and the monumental accomplishments that we were all blessed to have witnessed & enjoyed!

Peʻahi "Jaws" February 8th, 2011 "Paddle Surfing"

Dave Stein and I arrived to Peʻahi on "Rhonda" the Honda Aquatrax at just about sunrise *7AM* and to no surprise Ian Walsh, Mark Healy, Greg Long, Danilo Cauto,Yuri Soledade, Marcio Freire and others were sitting in the lineup on surfboards! The surf was in the 10-12 Hawaiian "16-25 Faces" with some bigger sets throughout the day. Not to mention I had the flu but could not pass up another session at Peʻahi.

Iʻm calling this one of the Top rides of the Day, Maui Boy Ian Walsh Charging!

Now thats determination! Ian got held down for a wile on this wave, but with plenty of mental & physical preparation Ian is ready for just about any situation.
Without flotation vests itʻs another realm out there! I think that these guys deserve a big applause.

Final Thoughts & Words> Rule #1 when it comes to Surfing & Priority, Paddle Surfers Have Priority Over Tow Surfers. I hope that next year I get the funding so that I could be out there paddle surfing. Aloha RM
